HISTORY
Formed in 1998 with the direction of Don Laird (Mundelein), Ken Royal (Fremd) and Pete Schneider (Libertyville), NIGFBA has fast become the best place to schedule games with the finest girl's feeder programs in Northern Illinois. Starting with only four programs represented, we now have twenty-six high school feeder programs from Cook and Lake County Illinois.

The intent of the league is to provide an avenue for girl's feeder teams to schedule games against teams of equal competition. We look to promote the best attributes of competition, such as:

Good Sportsmanship
Respect for opponents, teammates and officials
Fair and equal competition
Working for a goal

We offer every program involved the opportunity to play in our league format with a home and away schedule. Records will be kept and a seating meeting held to determine the pairings for the year-end play-offs and championship series. There is also an 8th grade All-Star game played with players selected from the league teams.

We offer a coach's clinic that will bring in quest speakers to discuss rules and interpretations, Physical Training, ACL injuries ...and much more. In addition, you will be kept informed of the best tournaments available and be able to get great input and advice as how to set-up and maintain a successful feeder program.

In order to assure that the competition is played at the same level, we have certain criteria that has to be met:

A program has to have at least one 6th, 7th and 8th grade team
There will only be one program from each high school
Every player has to live in the high school district for which they are playing

If you feel you want to be part of this great program, you will need to make contact with us at director@nigfba.com in August to begin this process. All new programs are voted on for acceptance in our October meeting.
